It’s national day again! Happy birthday Singapore!

One cannot help but recall PM Goh’s provocative speech at last year’s national day rally:

Has the younger generation of Singaporeans gone soft? Look yourself in the mirror and ask, am I a "stayer" or a "quitter"? Am I a fair-weather Singaporean or an all-weather Singaporean?

Black-or-white. Pro-or-anti. You’re either with us or against us.

Can anything ever really be so clear-cut?
