on mc.. finally on a break... :)

was introduced by friend to Actifed - not an over-the-counter medicine but the pharmacist at the pharmacy will give it to you, no questions asked (so what's the difference)? Learnt about Antihistamines and Decongestants - Antihistamine and decongestant combinations are used to treat the nasal congestion (stuffy nose), sneezing, and runny nose caused by colds and hay fever. Antihistamines work by preventing the effects of a substance called histamine, which is produced by the body. Histamine can cause itching, sneezing, runny nose, and watery eyes. Decongestants produce a narrowing of blood vessels, leading to clearing of nasal congestion - its amazing how much information is available to the lay-person on the web!

Visited doc this morning and was prescribed the standard cocktail of Lozenges (for irritated throat), Cough syrup and Flu Tabs. All meant to "cause drowsiness. Do not drive or operate machinery"... zzzz...
